you can find a Frontier that is over a decade old but still share some common traits with brand new examples sitting on dealer lots today. The Frontier’s of popularity means buyers can find one at an excellent value as well.
1999-2007 Ford F-350
If you’ve got big items to tow like heavy machinery, horse trailers or a boat, an F-Series Super Duty will get the job done for you. Since these trucks offer immense utility and available diesel engines, they tend to depreciate slower than more passenger-oriented vehicles, meaning you’ll have to go back a few more years to find one at the $10,000 price point.
2004-2014 Ford F-150
With nearly a million sold in this county every year for the past few decades, the F-150 has been the best-selling vehicle in America for years. If you’re willing to accept some miles on the odometer, you’ll find a decent assortment of well-used 12th generation F-150s, sold from 2009-2014, at our desired $10,000 price point.
2009-2013 Dodge Ram 1500
Buyers browsing for a used Ram 1500 should note that the model was referred to as the “Dodge Ram” only through the end of the 2010 model year. Starting with the 2011 model year, Dodge spun off the Ram brand as its own separate truck brand, and the company’s midsize pickup has been known as the “Ram 1500”
2007 – 2014 GMC Sierra
The Sierra offers the same configurability and engine options as the Silverado, so much so that you if you’re looking for a used Silverado, you might as well include the Sierra in your search as well. Buyers wanting more luxury can seek out an upscale Denali model.
2006 – 2012 Ford Ranger
The Ranger was only available in single and extended cab configurations. he Ranger was an exceptionally simple vehicle, making it durable and cheap to maintain. Four and 6-cylinder engines were offered, but we recommend the more powerful V6. Since Ford built tons of Rangers over the years, parts availability won’t be an issue, especially given how little the vehicle changed over the years.
2004 – 2012 Chevrolet Colorado
The Colorado offers excellent utility, and thanks to its depreciation, buyers can find a great deal on a used example today. The Colorado was offered in similar configurations as the Tacoma, with three cab sizes, two bed lengths and a bunch of available off-road features.
2007 – 2-14 Chevrolet Silverado
The Silverado’s high-volume sales and strong place in the US auto industry, buyers have virtually endless configurations to choose from. Single, extended and crew cab models are available as are short, standard and long bed options.
